Crystals
Watch crystals come in many styles, compounds and shapes. The most common types are glass, mineral glass (hardened glass), sapphire and acrylic.
The watch crystal must allow the space needed for the hands to freely move. Low dome crystals curve consistently, where high dome crystals curve up sharply then are flat across the top. The watch in photo #1 needs a high dome crystal to allow the hands to move freely. The watch in photo #2 is a low dome. Most times, you can choose based on the style you like best.
Single dome crystals are rounded on the outside but flat on the inside. Double dome crystals are curved on both the inside and outside, creating a different view of the dial and allowing more room for the hands to move. Based on the crystal, the dial view can be distorted from different angles.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE ECOMMERCE INDUSTRY-THEIVES-FRAUD & REFUND ABUSE
On ecommerce websites like Etsy & Ebay, which have guarantee refund programs, fraudsters say they didn't receive the item or it was damaged or anything else they can lie about.
Theft by Refund Abuse-Successful because she lied & made the claim through Etsy-This fraudster claimed she wanted a refund due to her country tariffs being too high, in this case Sweden. She says she does not want the item and demands a refund, which Etsy gives her. She then runs to pay the $6 tariffs and picks up the package. Just another day on ecommerce!
Theft by Refund Abuse-Unsuccessful because I blocked her fraud by sending her a prepaid return label for full refund. This fraudster got a very polished Seiko watch in stunning condition and used the blackmail review techinque on me. She tries to photograph the watch in dark light to validate her "rusty" claim but I polished that watch so much, it was impossible to lie about that !
She refused to return the watch.

This scammer, Reynalda, makes almost $200,000 per year (US) selling brand new mass produced watches with China movements. In fact, they're shipped from Hong Kong but probably mass produced in China. They use the word scam. Etsy knows it's a scam. Etsy makes 25%, which is about $45,000 per year off this one scammer! But consumers don't care either, gobbling up cheap items as they do. Etsy supposedly has rules about what can be sold, such as handmade, vintage or craft, but as long as you use the right words, you're good to go scamming!
Counterfeits on Etsy
Fake Seiko 5 with printed on logo, glued on markers & no serial number.
Real Seiko 5 with post attached logo, post or soldered markers & serial number at 6 position. Also the crown on a Seiko 5 is at the 5 position, not the 3 position.
This one is relentlessly opening under dozens of names, all selling the exact same watch which doesn't even exist as an original. It's not even a good counerfeit. It's just a mass produced. Seiko only has one model similar-see below for the original. This one earned over $170,000 US in his first year under this fake name. Etsy earned a whopping $42,500 in illegal fees from this.
EBAY policy on counterfeit items:
Beware when even daring to report a counterfeit to Ebay; they don't just dismiss counterfeit reports, they threaten you for reporting them as seen below. Counterfeiters are legally selling on ecommerce platforms with no federal, state or international concern or law and there is nothing anyone can do about it except to identify counterfeits and avoid them so you don't get swindled like so many hundreds of thousands of victims.
