Watch Stories-The Carl Dacksel Watch from Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis

Sometimes, engravings on vintage watches are too interesting to remove as with The Carl Dacksel retirement watch given by Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis USA in 1955. 

The watch is a Gruen gold plated watch which at the time cost between $100-200, indicating Mr. Dacksel was a good brewer. I offered it to Anheuser-Busch, free of charge for their museum and they were not at all interested. Perhaps they don't want their current staff to see the good treatment of employees past.

He retired in 1955 and died in 1956.
