Catherine de' Medici, born in Italy in the 1500's, became queen consort and regent of France. She is known for the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in 1572, where thousands of Protestants were slaughtered in Paris and rumored to have had a hand in the murder of over 30,000 protestants during her wicked-black hearted reign of France.
